Item Description: Up for auction is a 3D resin printed 1/25 scale 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop Coupe body as shown , made using ABS-like UV cured liquid resin. As with most 3D printed large surfaces, this has a matte finish and a grainy/layered feel as shown so prep work is required for a great finish, but the effort is well worth it to have a body not easily found otherwise. The layered or ringing finish is predominantly seen on the top surfaces (hood, roof, deck) due to the printed layer thickness set to .05mm (.0019") which provides the best print quality at an affordable price. T his body was printed to an overall length of 186.52mm, an overall width of 72.77mm and an overall height of 45.34mm, but please verify these dimensions to be acceptable as-is and will work for your specific project PRIOR to purchasing. 3D printed resin typically cures to a hard form which makes it more brittle to work with. I have started using the ABS-like resin to combat this, however care and patience should still be used when working with this material. Please research and understand 3D UV cured resin products to know exactly what to expect and the best ways to work with, prepare, assemble and paint it. Printed resin is an emerging art. I've always wanted a '68 Mustang Coupe and this one fit the bill. Details are not as good as molded resin and it will take many hours of scribing to get the detail I want. I'm planning to use the Revel '68 Mustang GT for the base and interior. Seller also has some bodies that you don't usually see - TR6 and a Fiat 850 both of which I have owned so I will be buying from the seller again for sure. Packaging was great. Glad these things are out there!
This 3D print is toyish looking and some of the dimensions are off. Such as oversized window trim and rain gutters. The grill area is Not good and Will require photo etch parts to correct. No panel lines are molded in this, so the lines for the doors, The trunk and the hood will all have to be scribed. Overall, very disappointed in this casting.
This is an INCREDIBLE piece of printing! Seller even removed all the printing supports from the inside! Being how there are NO ‘67 Mustang coupes available in main stream kits, this so welcomed! Recommended and will buy another! FIVE 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 STAR FEEDBACK!
