The volume is enriched with five copper-engraved illustrations (“figures en taille douce”), including the illustrated opening for Livre Premier. A handsome small-format classical mythology volume, with the Du Ryer translation, the Jugement de Pâris, and the Métamorphose des Abeilles noted on the title page. Bound in period mottled calf with gilt spine decoration, red title label, volume label “I,” marbled endpapers, and red-stained page edges. Measures approximately 6.5 x 4 x 1 inches.
