One of his most famous books is Treasure Island, published in 1883. The story is about a boy named Jim Hawkins who finds a pirate map and goes on an adventure to find treasure. The book features famous characters like Long John Silver. In 1886, Stevenson wrote Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This story is about a man with two personalities—one good and one evil. Dr. Jekyll creates a potion that turns him into the cruel Mr. Hyde. The book is a spooky mystery and is still popular. Stevenson also wrote Kidnapped in 1886. It is about a boy named David Balfour who is kidnapped and has to fight for his freedom. The story is full of adventure and danger. Stevenson traveled a lot because of his health. He moved to Samoa, a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean. He loved the island and the people there. He died in Samoa in 1894 at the age of 44.
