This postcard, stamped and postmarked 1924, features a handwritten message from "Earl," an employee of Sarawak Oilfields Ltd based in Miri, Sarawak (Borneo). During this era, Sarawak was governed by the Brooke family ("White Rajahs"), and mail from the Miri oil fields was frequently routed through Singapore to reach international destinations. Published by The Continental Stamp Company, this antique postcard has a divided back and is an interesting piece of Southeast Asian industrial and postal history. Item #: 464
