This auction is for two Japanese Maple seedling trees. The trees were grown from seed collected from Acer Palmatum Ssp. Amoenum 'Mikawa yatsubusa' Japanese Maple trees. There were three types of seedlings in this group. One was short, squat and slow growing, one was yellow-green with saw tooth leaf edges and the third type was fast-growing, upright and tall. These two are from the group of tall ones. Seed grown Japanese Maples can closely resemble the parent tree or they can differ considerably, depending on the genotype (genetic makeup) of the seed. Each tree is a potential new variety that can be propagated by cloning or grafting. You never know what kind of phenotypes (general characteristics like morphology, leaf shape, growth rate, etc.) you'll get when growing from seed, but you can be sure they will be awesome!
