Description

39 Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Glossy 8x10 Photos, & 1 Duplicate 39 color glossy photos (plus one duplicate), 8 in. x 10 in., of Star Trek: The Search for Spock. NOTE: I don’t know the source or origin of these photos; I found them among the large Star Trek photographic collection owned by my late brother. They are not (to my knowledge) official press kit or publicity photos (which typically have a credit line along the bottom margin). Most of the photos have minor rubbing (having been stacked upon each other for the last 30-40 years) which is evident when tilting the photo although this generally does not diminish the quality of the image. Some photos seem to have a slight reddish or yellow color shift and other color fading, due to age because I know my brother had these prints stored in a box since the late 1980s. I am auctioning them off because it’s possible that they are rare in the sense that some appear to be stills from the movies, outtakes from the movies, or set photos during the filming of particular scenes, and some appear to be definitively zoomed-in from the original film stock (hence they are more grainy). Their sharpness varies, perhaps due to the reprinting process and there can be specks of dust evident in some of the prints. I cite the date of the movie in the auction listing, and not the date that these reprints were printed (which is unknown to me). I think these photos are somewhat unique and would be of interest to Star Trek TOS collectors. Note that the opening photo in the auction accounts for all the photos, where there was not enough room to show the full images, hence the subsequent photos in the auction attempt to depict all the individual photos that compose the auction in manageable subgroups. This item is part of a large collection of licensed and official photo sets of Star Trek, The Original Series and the subsequent movies, some of these photo sets were produced overseas (e.g., England) and I have several foreign language sets (German, Spanish, French). In many instances, it wasn't possible to show every photo in full, rather, I spread them out so it was evident how many photos were included in each auction set. Not being an expert, I don't know if these are complete sets (except where stated when it was obvious from the set that there was a certain number of photos issued). I can combine any number of sets together after the auctions close, so if you are the winn er of multiple auctions, do not pay the automated eBay invoice; instead, I will invoice you a combined shipping price after the auctions close. I am also selling a unique collection of PREMIER Issues of dozens of different Sci-Fi themed magazines that were published following the release of Star Wars (1977), including what can only be described as a major expansion in Sci-Fi fandom literature beginning in 1978 and lasting through the 1990s, propelled by the release of the Star Trek TOS movies, and TV shows like Battlestar Galactica, Wonder Wonder, the Six-Million Dollar Man, plus many of these publication reflect back on earlier classic TV and Sci-Fi movies (e.g., Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Forbidden Planet, The Day the Earth Stool Still, and many more. Note to Buyers: I am also selling the remaining items from a Star Trek TOS TV and Movie collection (magazines, coloring books, records, promotional, publicity, and press kit photographs, movie programs and posters, audio books, and dozens of vintage Star Trek books which has taken me several years to organize, compile, grade, describe, and photograph) so please see all my other Star Trek book collectible auctions and Buy-It-Now items). Nearly all of the auction sales (except the rolled posters) can be combined for economical shipping with only a few exceptions. Please note that this combined shipping option is available for domestic US customers by simply waiting for me to gather your auction wins together and quote you a revised shipping cost. Do not pay the automated eBay invoice if you buy more than one item, please allow me to combine your items and quote you an economical combined shipping price. Buy-It-Now customers have told me that they get messages that I don't combine Buy-It-Now items but I do! so please message me if you want to combine Buy-It-Now items. Unfortunately eBay prohibits sellers from direct invoicing or combining shipping for international buyers; in fact, we aren't allowed to be involved in what they charge you. If you buy more than one item as an international buyer, the eBay automated system mindlessly adds all the individual shipping costs up when, in fact, your items could have been combined for a shipping cost saving. If this happens to you, please message me and I have a way of remedying that situation. For domestic buyers, if you buy more than one item during any given week, do not pay the automated eBay invoice that is issued at the auction close, rather please wait for me to issue you a combined shipping invoice. Please note that given I am selling over 200 Star Trek items so I will need the following day to work out how to combine your multiple auction wins. Luckily, all these Star Trek books and items for economical Media Mail shipping although I did provide on occasion either a First Class or Priority Mail shipping option if you need the items quickly. I have provided numerous photos of the items so please inspect those photos carefully for any issues before you make a purchase. I have attempted to grade the magazines and books using the ABE Books system and note any major flaws with the volumes. I have provided a lot of photos for you to examine to inspect the condition of any given item. I am also selling my entire historical geological reference library (also numbering in the hundreds) in preparation for retirement so if you are interested, please see those auctions also. Please consider All Sales to be Final, with no returns. Please be sure that this is the item you are looking for prior to bidding. If you have any questions about the content or condition of an item, please ask prior to placing a bid. Thanks.
