Description
This is a full set of compressor blades from I believe a Boeing 707 Pratt and Whitney JT3D Jet engine. I am not sure about the plane or engine, that is a best guess from research. This is compressor ring from a rebuilt engine that was not put back into service. The piece is very clean and the markings on the blades indicate it hasn’t been used again. This is approximately 28 inches in diameter and 38 pounds. A magnet will stick to all of the parts, the blades themselves and the ring. So they are all steel and not titanium. I counted 101 individual blades. I have cut the center out of one of these leaving about 1-1/2 inch of the hub and added an inverted cone, with a glass top it looks very good. This item is not to be used for its original purpose as an engine component. This is sold for artistic purposes only. Use your imagination and have fun building something cool.
