A museum-worthy pair of antique Georgian earrings, dating to approximately the late 18th century, around 250 years old, almost 7.5cm long. Originating from Spain, these exceptional Iberian long earrings are crafted in sterling silver and gold, and are set with foiled quartz stones accented by numerous simple-cut diamonds. The earrings feature the classic girandole design, composed of a principal upper section from which three articulated pendants descend. This elegant and dramatic form was especially fashionable in the Georgian period and remains highly sought after by collectors today. The quartz stones are set over pink foil, a refined technique widely used in jewelry from the late 16th century through the 19th century. The foil acts as a reflective backing, enhancing the depth, brilliance, and warm luminosity of the stones. The stones are beautifully preserved, with no signs of water damage or later replacement. One of the upper oval quartz stones shows a minor chip; otherwise, the stones remain in excellent condition. The ear wires appear to be original to the earrings.
