This antique salt glazed stoneware jug was made in Bennington, Vermont by E. & L.P. Norton. Operating from 1861 to 1881 by Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the business produced salt-glazed jugs, crocks, and churns often decorated with signature cobalt-blue floral, bird, or animal motifs. This jug stands approx. 12 inches tall and features a large cobalt blue flower. The jug has no obvious chips or cracks, however, there is one large firing flaw on the side.
