Acer palmatum 'Aizumi nishiki' Rare Variegated Japanese Maple READ DESCRIPTION. Acer palmatum ‘Aizumi nishiki’ is a rare, variegated Japanese maple know for it’s bright variegated foliage and vibrant stem color. This is one of our very favorites in the Oridono nishiki group. It just seems to show more pink for us compared to many of the others in the ON group. AUCTION NOT OPEN TO BIDDERS FROM CA, OR, WA, or HI. ANY WINNING BIDS FROM THOSE STATES WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTIONS Acer palmatum ‘Aizumi nishiki’ is a rare, variegated Japanese maple know for it’s bright variegated foliage and vibrant stem color. This is considered an improved member of the ‘Orido nishiki’ group, meaning the leaves are green with splashes and swirls of pink and white variegation. The variegation is most vibrant during the early spring, and again in late spring or summer during it’s secondary flush. This is one of our very favorites in the Oridono nishiki group. It just seems to show more pink for us compared to many of the others in the ON group. The stems are often bright pink, or pink/green/brown stripe-variegated, which is also a interesting feature of this tree. Some branches are so pink/red they appear like 'Sango kaku'. USDA Zones 5b-8. You are bidding on the actual tree that appears in the photographs . The tree for auction is a nice 2+ year grafted tree. The approximate height of this tree is 34" (inches) and the width is 28” (inches). We can hold this tree for several weeks if you cannot receive it due to cold temperatures.
