Acer palmatum 'Beni hime' Red Dwarf Japanese Maple 1gal pre bonsai READ DESCRIPT. It forms a small rounded bush/tree, as tall as it is wide. This is one of our very favorite dwarf Japanese Maples. Zones 6-8b. The tree for sale is a nicely branched little 2 year old grafted tree. AUCTION NOT OPEN TO BIDDERS FROM CA, OR, WA, AK, or HI Acer palmatum 'Beni hime' is a prized dwarf Japanese Maple that has extremely small leaves which are a vibrant pink/red during much of the growing season. In the spring, the little leaves, which are as small as a penny, emerge a bright pink red color. As the spring ends and summer begins, the leaves turn to a green color, but later flushes of growth in the late spring and summer show the vibrant pink/red colors over the green of the older leaves. The summer color reminds you of a very small rose bush, with small bright red leaves over older green leaves. ‘Beni hime’ is a dwarf bush/tree that puts on about 3-4 inches of growth a year. It forms a small rounded bush/tree, as tall as it is wide. This is one of our very favorite dwarf Japanese Maples. Zones 6-8b. You are bidding on the actual tree photographed. The tree for sale is a nicely branched little 2 year old grafted tree. The approximate height of this tree is 16" (inches) and the width is 12” (inches). NOTE: WE KEPT A SMALL BRANCH FROM THE UNDERSTOCK ON THIS TREE. WE SUGGEST LEAVING THIS ON FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR OR MORE. BENI HIME CAN BE A BIT DIFFICULT TO GROW (AKA KEEP ALIVE) DURING THE FIRST FEW YEARS FROM GRAFTING. LEAVING THE UNDERSTOCK ON FOR THE FIRST 3-4 YEARS MAXIMIZES THE LONG-TERM HEALTH OF THIS TREE. JUST KEEP IT PRUNED BACK SO IT DOESN'T OVERTAKE THE BENI HIME. YOU CAN SEE THE UNCUT UNDERSTOCK SECTION ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUNK/GRAFT UNION IN THE SEVENTH PHOTO. THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS ONLY THE SMALL UNDERSTOCK BRANCH. This tree will ship in it's 1-gallon container. This auction is only open to United States bidders. Also, due to phytosanitary restriction regulations, we do not ship to Oregon, California, Washington, Alaska, or Hawaii. Please do not bid if you do not live in the U.S. or if you live in one of those three states. We are experienced growers of rare and unusual trees. Bid with confidence. We provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are unhappy with the tree when you receive it, simply return it on a Monday or Tuesday of the week following your receipt of the tree, in its original condition, and we'll reimburse the purchase price (not to include original or return shipping/handling costs incurred). Page's Run Nursery is offering a nice variety of 1-gallon Japanese Maples this week. Please view our other auctions for these listings. Happy Bidding!!!!
