Description
Acer palmatum 'Masu kagami' Rare Colorful Japanese Maple 1gal. This gives the tree a striking mulitcolored appearance during the spring. The fall color is a blend of red and orange. The foliage on ‘Masu kagami’ is rather dense as the internodes are rather short compared to a typical Acer palmatum. AUCTION NOT OPEN TO BIDDERS FROM CA, OR, WA, AK, or HI. WINNING BIDS FROM THOSE STATES WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTIONS. Acer palmatum ‘Masu kagami’ is a cool and rarely offered cultivar of Japanese maple that is valued for it’s colorful foliage during the season. In the spring, the leaves emerge a pink/red color, which soon changes to an orange/gold, which then changes to green as the spring progresses. This gives the tree a striking mulitcolored appearance during the spring. During the summer, the leaves are chartreuse/green to dark green in color, with later summer flushes showing some orange/yellow over the older green leaves. The fall color is a blend of red and orange. The foliage on ‘Masu kagami’ is rather dense as the internodes are rather short compared to a typical Acer palmatum. This gives the tree very full appearance. This tree should be 10-12 feet tall and 6-8 ft wide in 10 years. Zones 5b-8b. You are bidding on the actual tree that appears in the photographs. The tree for sale is a NICE 2 year old grafted tree. The approximate height of this tree is 24" (inches) and the width is 16” (inches). This tree has been growing in a shaded greenhouse and the current color is gold/green! We don’t see much of the pink/red spring color in our young 1gal trees due to the shady environment of the greenhouse, which gives them more of a yellow/orange color over green.
