After releasing the album None Too Soon in 1996, Holdsworth embarked on a nine-date European tour in 1997 with a rhythm section featuring Chad Wackerman and the late Dave Carpenter. On October 25, 1997, the trio performed as one of the headliners at a jazz festival in Umeå, Sweden. The concert was recorded and broadcast by a local radio station. This release is a live album sourced from that broadcast. The original setlist consisted of 13 songs including the encore, but three tracks were omitted due to broadcast time limitations. Backed by Wackerman’s dynamic yet sensitive drumming and Carpenter’s melodic bass lines, Holdsworth delivers fluid, expressive guitar performances throughout. As no official live album by this trio was previously released, this recording stands as a rare and valuable archival document.
