Antique Early 19thC American Folk Art Portrait Oil Paintings Stoic Quaker Couple. I believe the pair is from the early 1800s (1830-40) and is likely from the Northeatern US, likely Pennsylvania. From a Central Ohio estate full of fine antiques and art. ITEM: Antique Early American folk art/primitive oval portrait oil paintings on board of a stoic Quaker Couple, man and wife in period dress. Each is in its original wood and gold gesso frame. I believe the pair is from the early 1800s (1830-40) and is likely from the Northeatern US, likely Pennsylvania. From a Central Ohio estate full of fine antiques and art. SIZE: Paintings are approximately 19.75" x 23.75", framed each is 23" x 29" x 1.5" deep . Weight is 11 lbs before packaging CONDITION: Paintings are in excellent condition with no flaking, touch-ups, thin spots or damage that I can see. Artist boards are thick & strong with no holes, rips or repairs. Original wood & gesso frame is solid with minor wear to the gold and gesso, as pictured.
