Description

This antique majolica-style ceramic pitcher features raised dog rose blossoms, buds, and foliage modeled in high relief and wrapped around the body in an organic, naturalistic design. The sculptural branch-form handle and softly scalloped spout give the piece strong visual presence with an Art Nouveau–leaning feel. The exterior is finished in layered green and brown glazes with soft pink highlights, showing natural glaze pooling and fine crazing consistent with age and majolica-style production. The interior is glazed in a contrasting lavender-pink tone , adding visual depth and interest. The base bears a hand-painted red mark/number rather than a factory stamp, suggesting studio or decorator production rather than mass manufacture.
