Description
Antique Parian Ware Hand Colored Figurine Victorian Girl & Her Dog R & L. Antique Parian figurine by Robinson & Leadbeater in England. Made around the 1870's. It is a hand colored statue of a young girl reading a book with her dog looking at it with her. The incised caption on the front bottom reads You Can't Read. The coloring and modelling is beautiful. The brown dog, the young girl in a blue dress with a white apron. She is leaning on a pink embossed throw with tassels. The figurine measures 12" across, 12" tall, and 7" wide, and almost 7 lbs. On the back of the stone base is the impressed mark R & L. On the back blue piece of fabric, on the underside is a small chip. I have taken a picture of this. You can't see this from the front or back unless you tip it back. Otherwise the figurine is in perfect condition. Thanks for viewing. Antique Parian figurine by Robinson & Leadbeater in England.
