The upper image presents the Artillery Building, completed in 1868, a substantial brick edifice originally featuring an arched wall and later adapted to house a kitchen, dining rooms, mill room, carpentry shop, and foundry on its first floor, with former military shops on the second floor converted to woodworking and pattern-making. Printed by the Print Shop of Arsenal Technical Schools, Indianapolis, this postcard offers a unique glimpse into the institution's early 20th-century appearance. The Arsenal Technical Schools, comprising Technical High School and Vocational Schools, occupies the seventy-six-acre site of the former United States Arsenal, active from 1862 to 1903.
