Description

ASCLEPIUS GOD OF MEDICINE SMALL STATUE Asclepius is the god of medicine and healing in ancient Greek mythology. Asclepius represents the healing aspect of the medical arts. His daughters are Hygieia (goddess of health, cleanliness, and sanitation), Iaso (goddess of recuperation from illness), Aceso (goddess of the healing process) Aglaea (goddess of beauty, splendor, glory, magnificence, and adornment) and Panacea (goddess of universal remedy). He was associated with the Roman god Vediovis. He was one of Apollo's sons, sharing with Apollo the epithet Paean (the "Healer"). The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today.(01-570-A) Details: Condition: New, Handmade in Greece Material: Casting stone Height: 26 cm - 10.2 inches Width: 7 cm - 2.7 inches Length: 7 cm - 2.7 inches Weight: 700 g ********
