Congregational Church Old Lyme. Samuel Belcher. Work on the original church at Old Lyme Conn was built by Colonel Samuel Belcher. Work on the original church was done mainly by ship's carpenters. In 1907 the church was destroyed by fire but was replaced by the close copy that stands today. The church is just a few minutes drive off highway I-95 near route 156.
