UNUSUAL 1921 Set Complete #1~ #300 – Crisp & Clean Views Plus - Telebinocular Stereoscope DESCRIPTION - Complete sequentially numbered 300 stereoview set with matching stereoscope by Keystone View Company – the set is from 1921. Had this for many years. Easy to describe because stereoviews are in museum condition and complete. Original boxes have some storage and handling wear. The Keystone Telebinocular viewer is in the original box. Keystone View Company stereos are “curve mounts.” Curve mounts were developed by Kilburn Brothers of Littleton, NH in the late 1800s to enhance the stereo effect. 1921 STEREOVIEW SET – The 1921 set is significant in Keystone history because of their acquisition of the rights to the stereographic images taken by Underwood & Underwood (main competitor). Up to this point, Keystone could only manage a 200-view set and several smaller sets (down to 36 cards). With the influx of the Underwood images, Keystone developed this 300-card set by adding over 160 new images. While all views are properly numbered front center top, the “higgledy-piggeldy” nature of Keystone's effort to get the 1921 set quickly out to the market can be seen in several ways. Some views have the "rear view position box" – some do not. Also, some views have a number in the upper center back that does not relate to the set. The Underwood images are identified on the front with a “V” prefix before the image number on the front of the card. Keystone issued only one more 300 card set in 1923 and then expanded to a 400-card set in 1932. (See “The Great War Through Keystone Stereographs” Copyright 2002, Robert S. Boyd). CONDITION – The stereoviews are best described as **MINT-** as they are essentially in the same condition as when manufactured – crisp and clean. The set was stored in protective clear plastic covers for display in my temperature-controlled home. Given the crisp and clean condition of the stereoviews, it is safe to say that these have not been handled more than several times for viewing. The boxes have wear from handling and storage – see photos. KEYSTONE TELEBINOCULAR VIEWER - Original Keystone Telebinocular viewer. Viewer complete and has excellent optics for bright clear 3D stereo viewing. Has original viewer box – box has wear – see photos. SHIPPING – 300 card set with viewer will be shipped in one package. It is heavy. Shipping is determined by package size, weight, and location of destination. **NO COMBINED SHIPPING* * Already Packaged This cannot be shipped with other purchases INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - We Only Use eBay International Shipping Program.
