IRON BUTTERFLY In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida 1969 ATCO US Pressing SD33250 Yellow Label Iron Butterfly's second album, released June 1968, is built around five shorter acid rock tracks on Side One and the 17-minute title track that fills Side Two entirely. "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" — famously a slurred take on "In the Garden of Eden" — features Doug Ingle's churning organ, Erik Brann's wah-drenched guitar, and Ron Bushy's extended drum solo. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard charts and went on to become one of the biggest-selling records in ATCO's history, receiving the label's first platinum award. Side One holds up well on its own: "Most Anything You Want," "My Mirage," and "Are You Happy" are tight psychedelic rock with strong organ-led arrangements throughout. This is a 1969 US pressing on ATCO Records, SD 33-250, yellow label with the multicolor wheel logo and the 1841 Broadway address.
