At 395nm, the WorkStar 364 is a true UV penlight that is compatible with all (395nm) fluorescent leak detection dyes, unlike some of the competition that use 420nm violet LEDs. Just as important is the size of the beam. The 364's beam is much wider than competing LED penlights, without any hot spots or shadows. In addition, the 364 penlight has a 3X zoom lens, so you can adjust the beam width to suit the situation. It uses rechargeable Lithium Polymer (Li Po) batteries which are charged via a micro USB jack hidden under a sliding sleeve. The recharge time is about 2.5 hr and is monitored by a red/green indicator LED near the USB jack.
