Description

NEW Arcadia Publishing Chimney Rock National Monument, CO 9781467131612 Images o The appreciation of the Chimney Rock region goes back more than 1,000 years. Here in southwestern Colorado, the Ancestral Puebloans inhabited the northern San Juan River Basin as an outlier community of Chaco Canyon. Its function and use has created much conjecture. The site was abandoned by the early 1100s for reasons that some speculate were related to drought, resource depletion, warfare, migration, or a combination of these factors. Over the course of its recorded history, archaeologists, astronomers, regional historians, and visitors have celebrated the rocks, ruins, and landscape that make up this important feature in the Four Corners region. It has been called La Piedra Parada by Spanish explorers, Fire Mountain by Tewa-speaking pueblos, and Tupiwiniri by the Utes. Today, we know it as Chimney Rock National Monument due to a proclamation made in 2012 by Pres. Barack Obama. 2. I bought a 128-page photographic book of Lansingburgh (Upstate New York) with over two hundred photos from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was annexed to the city of Troy in 1900 but still maintains its original village name from circa 1768. The Burgh was home to U.S. President, Chester Arthur, and also home to novelist, Herman Melville. Anyway, the package arrived within a week (free shipping). I got a great deal at $12.99 (after the discount), and I highly recommend this seller!!!

  3. Received very fast and was extremely well packed. I was a bit confused by the price on the listing as it had a discount offered, so I thought I was getting the discount. But when I asked the seller about it, they said the discount was only good for a minimum purchase of 3 items. I don't think this was a seller problem, I think EBAY should have better clarification to make sure there is no confusion. So I ended up paying full price. Lesson learned. The book was as described.
