This 1972 British album from Argo (ZRG 724) features performances of several of Purcell's works regarding religious ceremonies. They are performed by The Choir of St. John's College, Cambridge, directed by George Guest, also featuring the English Chamber Orchestra, led by Jose Luis Garcia, and Symphoniae Sacrae. Album notes are in English by Peter Dennison. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2). Also included is a photocopy of the original album review from the November 1972 edition of The Gramophone. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here.
