This RPPC is a great example of how postcards can be fascinating historical artifacts. The photo is of a light colored building with steps leading up to the storefront. There is a gentleman seated Out front and a young boy standing next to him, a display of brooms and a man wearing a hat standing in front of the door. The left window says “general merchandise WM Kleis” and the right entry window says “Salada tea”, and the right front window says “fancy groceries WM Kleis”. To the left of the store there is a small vendor stand with an open window (the sign in front of it is partially obscured but could read Hoekstra’s) with workers inside and customers on the stoop and a sign for Beech-Nut chewing tobacco to its right. To the right of the storefront there is a small trailer with a covered motorcycle parked in front of it. To the left rear of the store there is a sign that says “Bradley Store ice cold drinks, ice cream, free parking”. The reverse is postmarked August 20, 1928 Bradley, Michigan. Size: Approx 5.5 in x 3.5 in Condition: Good condition. Some marks/scratches to the finish on front and yellowing on reverse.Impression from postmark can be seen on the front. See photos.
