Description
This is a custom made kit to turn your coolant and oil pressure gauges INSIDE the RX8 instrument cluster into real coolant and oil pressure gauges! The stock ones are trully useless as the coolant one does not move off-center untill your engine is already toast, and the oil pressure one only knows 2 positions: off and slightly off center. With this kit, the coolant needle will start moving off center at 100C/212F, letting you know the engine is starting to heat up quite a bit. At 110C/230F the needle will reach that little red sign near the H letter, and at 115C/239F the needle will point at the H letter entirely. Under the OEM spec, the needle will move past center way too late, at 113C/237F you can barely notice it starts going off center, and it maxes out at 125C/260F. Useless and dangerous for your engine! The oil pressure needle will move proportionally with your engine oil pressure - letting you know how your engine is doing. No more sitting a bit past center position and that's it. Low on oil? Broken oil line? Spun bearing? Low engine oil pressure is a guaranteed engine killer! If you want custom ranges for these gauges, all is possible. Any value for oil and coolant can be made to suit your setup. Just let me know before I ship your kit. This mod installs on the back of the original cluster and includes all needed hardware. Coolant data is grabbed from the stock ECU.. All the wiring needed is provided with the kit, but soldering is required. Full install instructions for both LHD and RHD cars are offered. Compatible with ALL versions of the RX8 made from 2003-2008; for S2 rx8s, the oil pressure gauge is not present in the cluster so only the coolant gauge can be modded. Further questions? Ask away!
