Description
Martha Graham (1894–1991) was an American dancer and choreographer recognized as the "Mother of Modern Dance.” She choreographed 181 ballets and was named "Dancer of the Century" by TIME magazine in 1998. She trained Bette Davis and Madonna. She was the first dancer to perform at the White House and acted as a cultural ambassador abroad. This program is exceptionally rare because it features dances that are now considered lost works from her early days. It is also unique because UNC Greensboro is one of the few institutions authorized to perform in a showcase of her original choreography. No rips, tears, or discoloration other than what is expected from age.
