Author Biography Harold Schobert has been a Professor of Fuel Science at Penn State University for 25 years, also at times being chair of the Fuel Science academic program and director of the EMS Energy Institute. He has been a visiting professor at North-West University in South Africa, as well as universities in Japan and Turkey. Previously, while at the University of North Dakota Energy and Environmental Research Center, Schobert occasionally taught a chemicalengineering course in coal technology. His teaching career began as a temporary instructor in the chemistry department at Iowa State University.
