Description

Stunning !! The 1977 piece of Bjorn Wiinblad's Glass Collection was done for Rosenthal's Studio Line. Just beautiful. This Collectors Plate represents the "Annunciation of Mary", showing Angel Gabriel's visit to Mary. Beautifully colored in Turquoise, Shimmering Gold and Royal Blue. Loaded with lots of Motifs and beautiful detail. Printed on the plate in German is "Weihnachten 1977" in observance of what is commonly known in English as Christmas. Also you'll see Bjorn Wiinblad's Signature, a very famous Danish Artist whom designed this collection, on the front of the plate. The shape of the plate is a Squircle (square with rounded edges) with a circle recessed center. You'll notice in the photos that this glass is very thick (weighing over 3lbs). The Glass Plate comes with a Black Back Plate to use as a backdrop. Measurement is approximately 11 3/8" x 11 3/8" The back of the plate is stamped with "Limitierte Kunstreihen" a German phrase that translates directly to "Limited Art Series". The Rosenthal Company was first founded in 1879 by Phillip Rosenthal in Bararia, Germany. Rosenthal is known for its high quality dinnerware, giftware and interior collections. An absolute must have for those collectors of German Art. Perfect Condition !! (See my other listings for the full collection)
