These comics are old and tanned, but can be handled with ease. Some dates, and/or edges, might be more tanned than others. Condition notes are predominately focused on the comic on the front side (comic featured for the auction). The color register is often off at least a but, but the printing generally pretty really good with these comics (nice color). Examine the photos to see how the comics look. These still look great despite our attention to detail on taking notes. In general, we rate the color register issues in the following (with increasing severity). This is just a quick assessment as we go through the set. Color register off a tiny bit - 10 dates Color register off a bit - 10 dates Color register is off some - 4 dates Color register is off - 0 dates Some dates have some slight ink transfer, but this is normally pretty minor. We also observed light ink bleed-through...this was more common (did not note every case). The date is sometimes written in the margin of the reverse side. Some margins might be a bit narrow and there might be a few small binding holes in some margins (we mentioned some dates). Some dates might be on the centerfold of the newspaper. We also made some notes of some date specific issues (we tried to avoid making too many notes, and instead preferred to go the generalized condition notes above). This should serve as a guide to the condition of the set, it is possible that we have not caught everything: INDIVIDUAL DATE CONDITION NOTES 1-2 The comic has a narrow right margin. 1-9 The comic has a narrow top margin. 1-16 Some of the margins are a little narrow. 1-30 There is a little light to moderate ink transfer on the comic. 3-20 There is basically no top margin or it is very narrow. 3-27 There is light to moderate ink transfer across the comic concentrated along the top margin. 4-3 There is a little light ink transfer mostly in the top margin. 4-10 The margins are a bit narrow. 4-17 There is a little light ink transfer. 4-24 The top and bottom margins are narrow. 5-15 A large area of the right side is folded over and creased. 6-19 There is light to moderate ink transfer concentrated near the top margin. 6-26 There is a little light to moderate ink transfer. 7-3 The bottom margin is very narrow and basically absent. 7-10 There is light ink transfer mostly towards the top 7-17 There is a little bit of light to moderate ink transfer along the top of the comic. 7-24 There is a little light ink transfer mostly towards the top. 7-31 There is basically no top margin or it is very narrow. 8-7 There is a little light ink transfer towards the top. 8-24 There is basically no top margin. 8-27 The top margin is very narrow and there is a little light ink transfer. 9-25 The top margin is very narrow. 11-13 There is a little light ink transfer across the comic. 11-27 There is a very large tear on the right side starting from the bottom measuring about 16 cm, and the attached piece is folded and creased. 12-11 There is a tiny bit of light ink transfer. 12-25 The left side curls just a little bit and there is a small binding hole on the left side.
