The scene is wonderfully atmospheric with other cattle grazing whilst chickens roam around the tranquil grounds. The work is mounted within the amazing quality original pierced and scrolled gilt and gesso frame. It is signed by the artist, lower left corner S.J.Clark. He was a member of the Clark family of painters, all of whom painted horses and animal paintings. Sadly, this went missing and an investigation is ongoing. Nonetheless, the seller deserves great feedback as I base my opinion on how he has dealt with me. He refunded my payment in good time and has assured me that I will have first refusal if/when the painting turns up. I'm so sad as I'd been watching this for many months and my husband said I could have it as part of his gift to me at Christmas. But the seller does indeed deserve good feedback and a high seller recommendation.
