Set of 4 Charles Meigh Hand Colored Floral & Green Ribbon 9 5/8 Inch Plates Set of 4 scarce plates decorated with red transfer flowers and ribbons, with hand colored highlights in green, yellow, blue and red. 3 of the plates have an impressed mark on the back that reads Improved Stone China. This mark was used by Charles Meigh & Sons between 1835 and 1861. All 4 of the plates have overall staining. One of the plates has a chip to the back edge and a tight crack about an inch and a half long extending off the edge. One of the plates has a large chip to the foot rim, a bruise to the foot rim, a one and a half inch tight crack extending off the edge and that is mostly visible on the back. There is a smaller 1/2" hairline on the front near the other crack. The other two plates have no chips or cracks. Each plate measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the pieces.
