General Interest The Rainbow (Wordsworth Classics) Product Details: Category: Books ISBN: 1853262501 Title: The Rainbow (Wordsworth Classics) The Fast Free Shipping Author: Lawrence, D.H. Publisher: Wordsworth Editions Ltd Year Published: 1995 Number of Pages: 448 Book Binding: Paperback / softback Prizes: Book Condition: VERYGOOD SKU: GOR000355842 Item description With an Introduction and Notes by Lionel Kelly, University of Reading. In 1915, Lawrence's frank representation of sexuality in The Rainbow caused a furore and the novel was seized by the police and banned almost as soon as it was published. Today it is recognised as one of the classic English novels of the twentieth century. The Rainbow is about three generations of the Brangwen family of Nottinghamshire from the 1840s to the early years of the twentieth century. Within this framework Lawrence's essential concern is with the passional lives of his characters as he explores the pressures that determine their lives, using a religious symbolism in which the 'rainbow' of the title is his unifying motif. His primary focus is on the individual's struggle to growth and fulfilment within marriage and changing social circumstances, a process shown to grow more difficult through the generations. Young Ursula Brangwen, whose story is continued in Women in Love, is finally the central figure in Lawrence's anatomy of the confining structures of English social life and the impact of industrialisation and urbanisation on the human psyche. AWESOME SELLER, EXCELLENT SERVICE! I really appreciate that my order was shipped out & arrived very quickly, it was packed with great care & the book is in very good condition exactly as pictured & described & for such a great price too! Seller had very quick response to a question I had about the tracking for my order & assured me that my order was on its way & would be delivered as promised & it was! I am super-happy with my purchase from this fantastic seller & very highly recommend! Thanks!
There was a delay in shipping b/c book was damaged that they wanted to ship & they had to find another one to replace it. So it took 2 weeks to receive. The book received was in the "very good" condition as stated. I've bought from this seller many times and never received a junk book as I have from other seller's. They are thorough when it comes to inspecting books for quality & condition. Their reasonable prices keep me coming back!! Thanks for another great buying experience with you!! 👍👍👍
This is a great 💿 for my collection and I am a big fan of the band Budgie! The price was spot on and ordered it quickly but it took a long time to arrive, almost a month. The shipping envelope was a generic brown bag with no bubble wrap or protection for the CD cases. The item arrived with the case broken, so not as advertised, very good. But luckily the 💿 was not damaged. I took photos of the broken case and sent them to the seller. I was happy with their prompt response and solution
