The Fighting BLACKLIONS of VFA-213 were commissioned on 22 June 1955 at NAS Moffett Field , California . The BLACKLIONS flew the F-2H3 Banshee during their first deployment aboard USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CV-31). They transitioned to the F-4D Skyray for their next two deployments on USS LEXINGTON (CV-16). By their third WESTPAC deployment aboard the "LEX," they were flying the F-3H2 Demon, which gave the squadron the capability to shoot the newly released AIM-7 Sparrow Air-to-Air missile.
Great looking item, as described and pictured. Condition was perfect. Price on par with similar items I’ve seen. Quality was good. And although I did get my item within the estimated time frame I thought I would’ve gotten it sooner. I paid on the 3rd, they shipped on the 6th, I received on the 14th. 11 days from payment. In this day and age I would’ve expected a little better, most others I’ve purchased from, a week at the most. Would’ve gladly paid a little more to receive sooner.
The item arrived as described. The patch was a quality item in new condition. The patch has an excellent appearance and will fit right into my collection.
