Vintage Devon Motto Ware Set of 2 Trinket Dishes, Made in England, Handpainted . The trinket trays were made in the Torquay region of Devon, England. They are made of redware with a glossy finish. They are in good condition considering their age. There is crazing, but it is not easy to see. This is a set of 1950's Devon Motto Ware pottery trinket trays in a cottage design with whimsical sayings. The trinket trays were made in the Torquay region of Devon, England. They are made of redware with a glossy finish. One tray has a hand painted cottage on the bottom, the whimsical saying "Say little but think much" along with blue dots around the top, the second trinket tray also has a cottage, the saying " There's no fun like work" and the blue dots around the edges. On the bottom are stamps that say "Made in England", along with DMW (Devon Motto Ware) in a diamond. They are about 5 1/4 inches long, about 3 1/4 inches wide, and about 1 inch tall. They are in good condition considering their age. There is crazing, but it is not easy to see. You can see that there is some wearing around the top where the clay meets the paint. There are a few minor maker flaws, but nothing that takes away from the quality of the trays. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you would like to see additional photos.
