The softer color palette and creamy earthenware body suggest an earlier mid-century example. Origin: England. Technique: Transferware with hand-colored finish. Charming vintage St. Augustine Ware decorative plate featuring a classic English pub rhyme and a delightful countryside scene with rabbits gathered outside “The Hive.” The rim reads: “Within this hive we’re all alive, good liquors make us funny, If you are dry, step in and try the flavour of our honey.” Made in England, this approximately 10-inch plate is crafted from glazed earthenware with transferware decoration and hand-colored details. The design shows a quaint cottage tavern scene with rabbits, figures, and landscape elements, framed by a rich green border and warm ivory ground.
