Vtg. Hand-painted Italy 3-Handled Candy/Trinket Dish, Enamelware, Gold Gilt. The dish is curved in three areas and topped with gold-painted scroll handles. It's a beautiful set of colors! The dish would work very well to display baked treats or candy as well as a trinket dish for your vanity. This vintage 3-handled dish features a beautiful hand-painted hibiscus flower against a blue spongeware enamel background with gold gilt detailing. Made of red clay and measuring 8 inches in diameter and 1.6 inches in height, this dish is a true artisanal creation from Italy and the mid 20th century. The dish is curved in three areas and topped with gold-painted scroll handles. It's a beautiful set of colors! The dish would work very well to display baked treats or candy as well as a trinket dish for your vanity. The dish is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or signs of wear. There is one spot on the rim where the gold paint did not adhere and two spots on the back where the clay released unevenly. These date from the time of creation. Please see the pictures.
