History / Bio: Walter Samuel Hamady (1940–2019) was among the most important American fine press printers, typographers, papermakers, and book artists of the twentieth century. Through Perishable Press Limited, Hamady produced highly influential experimental artist books and hand-printed literary works blending poetry, typography, handmade paper, and sculptural book design. His work helped redefine the American private press movement by rejecting rigid commercial printing standards in favor of tactile, imperfect, highly personal handmade production.
