William's Doll by Charlotte Zolotow and Illustrated by William Pène Du Bois. William's Doll is a wonderful book that could teach both parents and children a thing or two about gender stereotypes. William's Doll is a wonderful book that could teach both parents and children a thing or two about gender stereotypes. It is an older book, so it does use some words that today's children may not understand (mainly the insult of calling someone a "sissy"), so I would recommend it for ages six plus. The book in question is used, but undamaged except for a tiny bit of wear on the cover.
