This YSL Rive Gauche skirt was designed by Stefano Pilati as part of the S/S 2006 "Ode to Spain" collection. The primary fabric is a raw silk (dupioni) which feels and looks like a fine linen and holds its tailoring crisply while contrasting with the satin underlayer. YSL Rive Gauche 2006 "Ode to Spain" Silk Bubble Tulip Skirt Size 36 FR / Fits 4-6 US 26" High Waist, 36"Hip, 30" Hemline Circumference, 24"L This YSL Rive Gauche skirt was designed by Stefano Pilati as part of the S/S 2006 "Ode to Spain" collection. It was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's work with Picasso and Spanish Dadaism - and Pilati updated his iconic bubble skirt to include the high nipped-in waist of traditional matador pants and the tight ruffled hemline of flamenco volantes skirts. The skirt was made in France and is 100% premium black silk. The high waist is framed with a lustrous crinkle-silk satin inset which highlights the smallness of the waist - the integral long belt can be knotted for a casual look or can be permanently sized for a tailored look (both shown). The ruffled hemline also has the crinkle-silk satin. The primary fabric is a raw silk (dupioni) which feels and looks like a fine linen and holds its tailoring crisply while contrasting with the satin underlayer. Close in the back is by 3 buttons on the inset waistband and the skirt includes engraved hardware. The skirt was worn for a daylong photo shoot and then put into professional storage - the belt was never tailored and the pockets were kept sewn shut and it's in excellent gently-worn or as-new vintage condition.
