Absinthe "Silverado" ( Wormwood ) - Artemisia absinthium Wormwood bushes are very pleasant to perceive, they smell good, especially in dry weather, on a sunny day. Wormwood blooms in July-August. As a medicinal plant, it is mentioned even by ancient authors, and its specific name Artemisia goes back to the name of the Greek goddess of hunting Artemis. Long before Carl Linnaeus, Pliny the Elder called it artemisia, and the generic name absinthium is associated with its bitterness, which is not a pleasure. How to Plant Absinthe Wormwood Seeds: Plant indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost of the season. Due to the tiny and delicate nature of the seeds, sowing directly outdoors is not recommended. Absinthe Wormwood seeds require light to germinate, so be careful not to cover them when planting. Learn more about germination light requirements here. When grown indoors, seeds should be pressed into the soil but not covered. Seeds should be placed in a well lit area but not exposed to direct sunlight, such as a window.
