'71 Fall Tour !! ... in Austin, Texas !!! : Rare ! & Hot !!! '71 Live-Dead ! ... in The Big State !! : Very Rare !!! Scorching-Hot !!! Fall Tour 1971 ! Grateful Dead !!!! ... in Austin, Texas !!!!!!! Dead Fans !!! Wow ... the Grateful Dead and the Whole-Traveling Circus ! descending right on the Big-State Texas ! well-over Forty-Five ( 45 ) years ago !! This must have been so-incredibly Awesome ! to attend, and I'm so psyched for all of you Dead Fans out there that were indeed able to catch dates on this '71 Fall Tour run. I will say one thing for certain, the Band is downright " Gun-Slinging ! " on this Very-Hot ! Texas Night !! The Songs, Ballads & Cowboy-Tunes ! are attacked with vigor -- and the improvisational psychedelic moments are pushed out to the very-max ! As many of you already know, here we have the Dark Star > El Paso > Dark Star - prior to its infamous delivery at the Oregon County Fairgrounds in Veneta, Oregon in August of 1972 ( 8/27/72 ). Even though Donna Jean Godchaux was the one who actually approached Jerry Garcia herself - to ask him to let Keith Godchaux in the Band as the new Keys player. .. Keith's playing is totally delightful at this stage, and this once again asks the question if Garcia ever came even close to making an imperfect move when it came to staffing-up the line up of the Band during every different Grateful Dead time & era ? A Fantastic ! addition to the Band, indeed. When listening to this release for the very 1st time ( I never owned the analogs, strangely ? ) even more then just thinking about " Don't Mess With Texas ! ", I kept finding myself thinking & feeling " Don't Mess With The Good Ol' Grateful Dead !!! ". They no-doubt deliver the Fiery-Goods ! here fellow Dead Fans, just into their ( only ! ) 6th year as a Band together during this Completely-Brilliant ! Austin, Texas ! performance - Wow !!!!! I mean where's Audie Murphy when you need him ?! Heavy-duty '71 Fall Tour G.D. !! down in Texas !!! ... Good Ol' Grateful Dead !!!!!
