This is the 1982 US pressing on Red Rooster Records (3055) — NRBQ's own label, distributed by Rounder Records. NRBQ Scraps 1982 Red Rooster 3055 STERLING Remaster EX/EX Ho-Jo Workin Originally recorded in 1971 and released on Kama Sutra in 1972, Scraps is the album where NRBQ locked in as a band. It's the first record with guitarist Al Anderson — who would stay with the group for over twenty years — and the only NRBQ album with a true quintet lineup. Terry Adams (piano, clavinet, harmonica), Joey Spampinato (bass, vocals), Tom Staley (drums), and Frank Gadler (vocals) round out the lineup. The band's genre-jumping instincts are all over this record — blues, rock and roll, country, and a strain of pure American eccentricity that nobody else was doing. Standout tracks include "Howard Johnson's Got His Ho-Jo Workin'," "Magnet," "Get A Grip," and "Boys in the City." Produced and engineered by Eddie Kramer. Recorded at Columbia Studios, New York, and in Mount Vernon, NY. Remixed at Electric Lady Studios, NYC.
