This 1987 Czechoslovakian import stereo album from Supraphon (1112 4097 ZA) features performances of works by John Blow and Henry Purcell. Featured performers are Timothy Penrose (countertenor) and James Griffett (tenor), accompanied by the Chamber Ensemble, performing on period instruments and directed by Miroslav Venhoda. Album notes are in Czech, English, German and French. Also included is a large (album-sized) 4-page foldout containing further biographical discussion of composers John Blow and Henry Purcell, profiles of the major performers, and full lyrics. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2).
