Way-back in 2001, I remember getting full-on goosebumps & even weak knees too - when I caught official word that RFK 6/14/91 !!! - and even a bit of 7/12/90 !?!! too ! were going to be let-loose from " The Vault " in Glorious ! pro-release sonic fashion ! - in both Video ( VHS / DVD ), and also ... in CD Audio " Soundtrack " format !!! Not only was this one of my favorite Dead Shows I ever saw live ! ... but it was actually TWO !! of my favorite Dead Shows I ever saw live !!?!?!! And ... as it totally goes without saying, I picked these up as soon as humanly possible ( way-fast ! ). I caught 6-straight RFK Shows around this Late-'80's / Early-'90's Era & these 2 were without any-question two of the Best ! - with '89 & '92 too ( w/ the Casey Jones train-horn kick down ! ) also both definitely being in this conversation. This 6/14/91 RFK Show was right at the Top ! of the 1991 Summer Tour performances, along with the 6/17/91 Giants Stadium Show. The 7/12/90 RFK Show was arguably the very-best performance on the 1990 Summer Tour, neck-to-neck with the 7/8/90 Three Rivers Stadium/Pittsburgh, and 7/16/90 Rich Stadium/Buffalo Shows. 6/14/91 features a band-sound ( & tones, etc. ) of the mighty Grateful Dead in their most staffed up form with both Vince Welnick & Bruce Hornsby on keys / piano. Phil steers the ship in this one, Ace brings the heat ( & the ' cut-offs ' too ! ), and Jerry is just ' On ', yet once again, with his Long-hair just blowing in the wind ( with a fan right on him ! - very cool, literally ). The Help on the Way > Slipknot ! > Franklin's is completely monumental for 90's G.D., and there's even a little ' Treat ' in Lovelight that will make you tingle & smile. 7/12/90 is just big-league G.D. stuff on a Way-Rainy ! night turned Magically-Historic !! by the Band giving it their collective " All " !!! These 7/12/90 Bonus-Tracks are definitely The-Heat ! ... offering one of ( if not THE ! ) finest post Fall-'89 Dark Stars of all-time. Enjoy it, you will do - you Will~do ! Fabulous Early-'90's G.D. here fellow Fans ..... And also, as you are probably already well-aware - this 3-CD Set is definitely one of the Hardest ! Grateful Dead CD Sets to acquire ( by a long-shot ! ) - it fact, it might just be " The ! " hardest ... but naturally, I cannot say for certain. My personal feeling, is that this was very-very short-printed - due to the fact that this is the " Soundtrack " for the wide-released DVD version. Nonetheless, while View From The Vault I, III & IV ( 1, 3 & 4 ) are still fairly-easy ? to find & acquire ... this View From The Vault II ( 2 ! ) - is quite a different story, as it's a near-impossible find. A G.D. True-Rarity ! here my fellow Dead Fans, and indeed a Gem ! of a Show(s!). Hope you-too were there for ... RFK '91 !!! ... & hopefully-too ... for RFK '90 !!!!! - Enjoy !!!!!!!!!
