Description
This is an unusual 1967 stereo LP (with an additional 7" disc on the inside back cover) from the University of Missouri Press (UMPR-1003S): what is said to be the first performance in modern times of Missa Sancti Hieronymi by Johann Michael Haydn (younger brother of Joseph), and Te Deum by Andreas Hofer. They are performed by the Collegium Musicum of the University of Missouri, conducted by Andrew C. Minor. Featured vocalists include Merrily Culwell (Soprano), Avenel Bailey (Mezzo-Soprano), Thomas Mills (Tenor) and Harry Morrison (Baritone). Featured players include Donna Boitnott (1st Oboe), Nannette Bailey (2nd Oboe) and Perry G. Parrigin (Organ). Album notes are in English by Charles H. Sherman. The 12" LP holds the performance of Missa Sancti Hieronymi, and the 7" disc holds Te Deum Parts I and II. The outer sleeve shows wear from handling, and tape repairs to its spine. The inner 7" sleeve is attached to the middle of the inside back cover, and has torn through most of its seams. (Photo 4) Discs themselves are in very good condition. There is also a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2) . This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear. NOTES: Album sleeves may have a small index sticker, usually in the upper right corner of the back, which was applied when the album was first purchased for this private collection.
