Description
This 1976 import stereo album from Harmonia Mundi (HMI 73101) features performances of Laudate Ceciliam as well as several motets by Henry Purcell. They are performed by Pro Cantione Antiqua of London, directed by Mark Brown, and accompanied by the Mitglieder des Collegium Aureum ensemble. Album notes are in English and German, written by Richard Townend, along with full lyrics (most of which are in English, with some in Latin). Although the front cover features the "Quadrophonie" symbol, this particular copy manufactured in Italy seems to only be in stereo, as evidenced by the back as well as both sides of the label. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back . (Photo 2) This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear. NOTES: Album sleeves may have a small index sticker, usually in the upper right corner of the back, which was applied when the album was first purchased for this private collection.
