Every time I listen to this one - it is a guaranteed ' goose-bump ' deliverer - as this is Robert Hunter just pouring out his Soul ! in the ' Solo-Acoustic ' Live format ... close to 30-Years Ago ! I'll never forget when this one was released - back in '91 - as I was beyond-delighted ... as for me personally, I had a little bit of ' regret ' to take care of. I was actually in High School ! - and Hunter played a mid-week show in D.C., yes ... on a ' school-day ' week ... and I caught word - but was unable to make it. And of course ... a few of my buddies went - and made certain to tell me just ! how much Hunter's Show blew them away !! I mean hey, these are friends & all ... lookin' to share the details of their good time - it was just one of those times - turned into one of those personal ' regrets ' for me. So ... this bummed me for a while - but then --- in less than a Year ! ... Hunter choose to actually " release " chunks of this fabulous Live ! Tour on CD !! And this here, is that CD. And, back then - in those times, if your friends didn't tape it - and you still hadn't done a ' tape-trade ' for it - then you were left wonderin' !!! And for a Show like this - this special -- Hunter Live in '90 on the East Coast ... when the Grateful Dead were in Full-Effect - in arguably their Greatest ! ' Late-Prime ' --- well, you can get the point here ... as picking up this Disc was like acquiring a Treasure !!! And for me, since I missed it !? Well, now I had it !!! And the nice, clean digital sound was like a fine-wine for the eardrums !! Joe Gastwirt even put his finishing-touches on this beauty - Amazing sound !!! This is Hunter going Solo-Acoustic - and bringing it to the Dead Fan Faithful with all of his might ! And, as for the setlist on this release ? Whoa !?! It's like complete household-names for even the casual Deadhead ! >>> Box - Scarlet - Franklin's - Jack Straw - B.E. Well, for me - this release actually had to tide me over for years & years - ( along with all of the other Hunter CD's & Cassettes that I had ) ... because as I missed this Show in '90 - it took me another 1/2-Decade until I actually saw him !!?! Finally !!! I caught him Out West - on one of the early Furthur Festivals in like '96 or '97. But I must say - when I did !?! It was like " Mission-Complete ! " you know ... that check-mark when you know that you just saw one of the Greats ! ... or, as I probably should say -- " Grates ! ". Luckily for me, I was able to see Hunter a few more times ... but, it definitely took some " Hunting " - at least for me - as that's my story. Acquire this Hunter Treasure ! and - my guess is that you will be glad you did ... as these days, they just don't play it quite-like-this anymore. Wow -- So-Awesome ... Enjoy !!!
